There are many patterns for oyas in crochet in The Batsford Book of Crochet by Ann Stearns (pages 144 - 155) Some are beaded; others are not. An extract on p 144 reads Personal lace consists largely of the very fine narrow laces used for trimmings, either as a braid or a more decorative edging.
