Once I wanted to order ethafoam from a manufacturer and they carried dozens of weights and coarseness some of which were identified by color. I've had the same experience spinning bamboo and soy fiber. Oddly, though, I was given some undies made from bamboo and they are extremely comfortable and not plastic-y. There must be some further process that they use on the fiber for garment manufacture that they didn't use on the roving.
