A couple of weeks ago I posted a question (below) about a Honiton collar, and
didnât hear from anyone. Happily the owner of the collar has sent me some
photos, so I invite you to take a look at them and tell me what you think (see

Wow! That is a very beautiful piece of lace! I see what you mean about the
rectangles. I don't have a clue, but love it anyway. It would seem to be very
meticulous to make (for me anyway).

The picot braids in a square pattern look to me like the 'purl edged braid
squares' shown on pages 75 and 25 of "Honiton Lace: A collection of
rediscovered fillings" but in this case the purls are only on one side of
the braid not both.

I think it is probably Honiton - the flowers including the thistle are typical
as are the leaves with raised work. I’ve never seen
