Hello Janice and everyone
If the Teacher Showcase room has internet access, people can sign up on the
spot if they have portable devices, visiting www.arachne.com and following
the links to the majordomo addy etc. Whether or not access at the time, you
could have the arachne url on a placard

There is a ground, used rarely in Bucks, called "cord ground". Is it
possible your source has a typo? It is basically the same as the little
snowflake used in Binche (although the pins are placed differently). It is
on page 101 of Cook & Stott's BOOK OF BOBBIN LACE STITCHES, Branford
Thanks for your suggestions for an Arachne get-together at the IOLI convention.
I think that having lunch together in the food court would work better.

I think that's a great idea, Janice, and one topic might be the various
exchanges over the years. They are fun in the short term and, in some
cases, have led to long-term and long-distance connections. Perhaps we can
offer some testimonials about how the listserve has contributed to our lace
I have been approached about Arachne having a table at the Teacher Showcase
so that we can inform lacemakers about Arachne. Â Not sure if we would have
anything to display, but we could bring along our lace work and maybe have a
hand-out for visitors. Â
What are your thoughts on that subject? Â
Found out that we might have two options for our get together this year as the
hotel has a small restaurant and not much room in the lobby, and would charge
us if we wanted to use a room. Â As I understand it, the shopping mall is
attached to the hotel with an overpass bridge and they have a food
Can you post a photo? If you belong to one of the Facebook bobbin lace groups,
maybe someone there could help you.
I'd be curious about it, too.

Wow how wonderful, another thing to do when I'm visiting family in NYC.
Let us all support them.

I read the article. Hoping they are successful. I remember what
difficulty I had finding a lace teacher around NYC back in the mid
90's (I lived in the Bronx back then). Fortunately, I found Arachne
and through them was able to connect with the same lace group
(Metropolitan Chapter of IOLI).
Hi,
A few years back I had found instructions on the internet for making a travel
bobbin lace pillow from
cigar boxes. Does anyone remember seeing this and does anyone know where I
might find those instructions again?
It was very clever. It folded up and was very easy to carry to
Be still my beating heart! Some young Brooklyn artists are starting a lace
group in Brooklyn. The first meeting is on Thursday and I am planning to
attend. You can read about it at this link.

A friend is doing a Buck's piece and the instructions use the term "core
ground". Neither of us have heard the term before and I wondered if anyone
on the list has ever come across this term and how is the ground worked?

I have received a lovely bookmark from Sue T! It is very fine Torchon, mounted
on red, very delicate.
I am just about to package my four, ready for the post on Tuesday.
