One thing more about the Queen Marie-Henriette of Belgium : she was also
duchess of Brabant. During the reign of her husband, the King Leopold II a
new sort of bobbin lace was born and took the name of Duchesse Lace, very
probably to honour the Duchess.

Belgium" shows a detail of a lace train which was a gift in 1878 from the
Belgian women to the Queen of Belgium, Marie-Henriette for the 25th
anniversary of her wedding with the King Leopod II.

Our lace group recently finished a great lace project : a table-mat for the
table of the marriage room of our town hall. I designed the lace (about
4m/1m) and we worked on it together with 16 other lacers. It took about
2500 hours to make it and we pass it to the local authorities in June.
