Linen tends to soften with washing but, on the other hand, from my limited experience with similar types of tape laces, it is tension and method of work that results in a stiff, crisp lace so I am not sure whether these will soften. I have not yet had to wash any of the tape lace pieces I have k

Hello Antje Your linen thread probably has sizing in it. Try a test before treating doing anything with your scarf. Take a length from the spool and get it quite wet in clear water, put the wet thread between two layers of a towel and press the water out. Let it air dry and you should see a differ
