Was just remarking to DH that it was just 6 months 'til Xmas and those who
make needlework (or bobbin) for presents need to get their projects going if
they will get finished in time.
I seldom do, and often end up giving close family members a bag of yarn,
which I knit up in Jan. and Feb. :)

Sounds likely - probably related in etymology to our "Jane Banks
ponytail", the family name for the gathering of the front hair into a
small ponytail at the crown of the head, above the rest of the hair
left loose - from the Disney Mary Poppins movie.
