I guess I need to check them out. However, the files on sourceforge
are about 6 years old. Is there a more recent version of ZeosDB?

I found a sample of what I hoped to be a way to deal with data-aware
controls, called IBdemo-20050328. However, it was incomplete. I was
able to get it to compile, and display stuff in the data grid, but the
update, modify, and delete functions were not implemented -- which is
basically what I was
I imported the csv files using IBEasy+, which worked ok except that it
doesn't appear to like values starting with a zero, nor does it like
dates before 1900.

No, I am running Windows XP Pro. The files appear be writeable -- I can
update them with FlameRobin ok, just not with my Lazarus program.

I managed to get Firebird running, and I was able to display the contents of
a table in a dbgrid -- but my program insists that the database is
read-only. I can't find where I set any read-only flags. Anybody recognize
the problem & can tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I finally got Firebird installed and tested on my home system, so I am
now in a position to start checking out how to access it with Lazarus.
I've got some time this weekend set aside to work on migrating a
19-year-old database application that I wrote for an attorney

Ok, thanks -- I didn't know that there was a native connection.
BTW, I did find the ODBC driver.

Anybody on this list use Firebird database with Lazarus? I'm looking
for general information on this, and I ran into a dead end while
trying to find the ODBC drivers, so I'm hoping somebody here has found
a better way -- or knows where to find those drivers.

I just started out trying some stuff with Lazarus on my old laptop,
and I noticed that it was very slow. I figured it was just my old slow
laptop, so I installed Lazarus on my system at work to compare it with
D6. On a small project D6 is more than an order of magnitude faster.
Is this inherent w
I do not recognize the reference to .PAS -- is this part of the FPC or Lazarus? If it's not, it needs a more 'searchable' name.

Yup. Yesterday, I got emails to all of the email addresses I used while trying to register over the past few days. I'm now successfully registered.

I believe the Lazarus site is broken. I have tried to register for 2 days. I have tried with 3 different ID/email combinations, and never got a confirmation email. The forgotten password service also gives no email. There is no obvious way to contact the admin on that site.
