This may not be as complete/robust as Matt's script, but accomplishes
something similar:

Unless others object we will move the CATEGORIES field to
X-LDS-CATEGORIES which should effectively remove it from
being imported into palm's desktop (someone care to check
that this doesn't break anything?). We also will prepend the
category text to the desc
I think the current plan is to rewrite the entire thing, which makes it harder
to justify many modifications to the current system. However, your suggestion is
good and I will pass it on.

I think the problem with the vcal is that I stripped the time off of all-day
events. Without a time the client appears to assume “T00Z”, which is
midnight UTC. For me that would be 5 PM local time the previous day, which is
when the event shows up on my calendar. Adding T00 to the DTSTAR
