Thanks to Steve and other instructions from Simon and Charles, I could fire up LaBrea
without to much trouble. I have Web and ssh running so I use
/usr/sbin/LaBrea -i eth0 -l -v -p 8 -z -x -F /etc/LaBrea.bpf
with LaBrea.bpf containing:
dst host 24.x.x.x
and tcp[2:2] & 0xfc00 == 0

In the main menu bering is not listed.
On the download pages is no bering disk image.
On the files page bering beta 3 is listed, bat no files are available.

All,
The mini-howto version 1 is complete but it is 13
pages long. Instead of a mass mailing I plan to send
it to selected individuals that are intersted.
It is available as a word97 and plain jane *.txt
please specify which one you want.
If anyone has a better idea on how to distribute this,

You will want to watch your ramdisk (or maybe you have taken care of this

will cause your ramdisk to fill up very quickly.

Then going to developer content page for Jacques Nilo then to disk images
and modules. At this point download either bering-1680.bin or

I have been using lrp 2.9.8 for some time now with great success, but
now wish to forward the necessary stuff to connect to a pptp server.
Can I just use the kernal from the most recent Oxygen Image, or do I

1723/tcp, but I am being told that I must also pass 47 gre and I am

Thank you for your fast response.
I unfortunately posted before I thought. Turns out
that just the eth0 needs the rp_filter turned off so I
was able to make things work without worrying about
the ipsec0 rp_filter.

Eigerstein LRP box?
I know how to forward regular ports coming in to a server behind the
firewall, but I do not know about htis protocal 47 (gre)

left and right the same throughout the ipsec.conf file but, it started
occuring to me (as I read more) that this only applies to each side.. ie

I have also run everything in parallel on a Redhat 7.1 system. I have
identical /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf files on both systems.

The reason the port shows as open is because it it. Your port is responding
with a message that says "Yeah I'm here, but my connection stinks - you can
only send me tiny packets of data." After that it doesn't respond - and the
scanning machine (if teergrubbed) will send information forever (

this port " 5000 upnp " as closed instead of stealth

I tried adding a second static IP to my dachstein floppy 1.0.2 ... so i
go into /etc/network.conf and uncommented the line
eth0_IP_EXTRA_ADDRS="w.x.y.z" (where w.x.y.z is my new static ip)
and reloaded (svi network reload)... no luck. so i went to the
instructions for configuring network.conf,

I'm a little confused.
Is this a problem and if so what would you like to accomplished?
If it is closed, it's not doing anything except saying this port is
closed. True, it does say that the port is closed, but not that there
is a service there.
