Sorry for not responding right away. My BIOS does NOT allow for adjustments to the IDE controller (large, LBA, etc.) It's very strange in this respect - and I've tried both Master and Slave settings. I just flashed the BIOS to the most recent (1998) version, and no dice - still no autodetect

Joe, Try to check different CF cards. It looks like that not all CF cards are created equal. ;-) A lot of the CF cards i have tried from smaller OEM manufacturers (i.e not Sandisk) do not support the full CF standard and as a result the do not operate well (or at all) in IDE mode. Also if you are
