Fellow Bering-users,
I had the misfortune of accidentally typing
./buildtool.pl buildclean
with the result that my intended quick recompilation
of a wireless module, instead began from scratch by
first rebuilding 'linux' successfully, but then
failing to rebuild 'buildenv'. The buildtooll

Are there a complete set of instructions for doing it the CD mounting
way? I found pieces of instructions all over the place, but nothing
concrete (or so I could find).

On Linux as root
mount -o loop isofile mount-point
gives you access to the whole iso content

Hi Erich, Eric, and all Bering-users,
most Bering-users would not like to spend time on
the following "bug/deviation report".
I removed the previous message to lessen the burden
and will here comment on 'buildtoollog' and otherwise
on my preparations, so that my fault or any other

Thanks for the advice,
I "kind" of have it running. So far I
1) Booted Knoppix LiveCD
2) fdisked the 3.0Gb CF into a 1Gb and a 2Gb partition with the 1Gb set
as bootable
3) mkfs.dos on both
4) syslinux -s on the 1 Gb
5) Mount the floppy image and the cd image and copy all of the lrps over.
6)
Mats;
I'd replace every trace of the old buildenv (link and your buildtool dir).
Then I'd do fresh checkout for buildtool and edit make/MasterInclude.mk and
make shure I set the host compiler to a 3.x gcc version - it does not work
with gcc 4.x.
That should work - I've done that more than once

A ha getting there. It boots all the way up to the console. I
installed the new etc and modules lrps, but I still am unable to get the
eth controllers to come up. It gives me an error about eth0 not having
all the variables set, and says that eth1 is not found.

Starting software watchdog... done.
watchdog: No such device
What is this coming from? I enabled the wd1100 module...

As a note to the above /lib/modules has softdog, but not wd1100. Anyone
know why?
