I am trying to connect an actiontec gt701 with usb connection (the ethernet
connection is bad on the DSL modem) to my Bering uClibc firewall
(3.1.1-beta1, 2.4.34 kernel version). I have successfully configured it on
another system running Linux kernel 2.4.31 (Slackware 10.2) using the
CDCE
I'm using two leaf boxes (3.1beta2 or beta1, I'd have to look again)
that boot from CDROM and load from an older USB stick that has a
hardware write protect switch on the drive. I have to power down and
then move the switch to update or change settings but for the most

First, make sure that you have loaded the proper usb kernel modules
for your system in your initrd. I have a router that has OHCI usb
root hubs on the motherboard and the stock initrd with the Bering CD
image would not work since most intel systems have UHCI root hubs.
