Well, so it's farewell to John Gramps Sykes.
Great blokes like this one don't come around that often, and I have always
had a soft spot for Gramps ever since the days of the Listers World website
(where in the world are the Listers?) when he claimed to be the only
Canadian lister!

I'm 69. An interesting number and age.
There's a different perspective to GranPa Sykes.
He obviously loved what he did and had done.
You could always hear his enthusiasm. There was always the wisdom of
experience. He was never bitter.
He must have been proud to take his name 'Grand Pa'. So I guess

Very sad news about Grampa Sykes. I've taken the liberty of changing the list

MARCHING ON TOGETHER
Dear Brenda and Cindy
I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing, may he rest in peace.
Even from afar for so many years, John was always passionate about sport
and Leeds in particular. His contribution, as a self-appointed elder
spokesman was always intelligent, provocative and passionate.
Very sad to hear that. He was a lovely man, a very welcome part of the list.

Hello,
We are sorry to announce the passing of our father, John Sykes, on Nov. 12th.
It was unexpected and quick. He had been diagnosed with cancer and within two
weeks he was gone.
His love for Leeds United was deep. He was even talking about it , despite a
stroke that affected his speech.
