Definitely not selling this one. It takes me too long to make them
manually. I could farm it out but it would still be expensive for two or
three units.

I forgot the newer Legacy do not have a MT2 taper on the tailstocks. My old

I do believe you are right about Tim making a new tail stock adaptor for a

Hi curt

mount your legacy near a wall and put a make shift tails stock on the wall
so you can fit 8 foot columns in the 900

HAY Guys!
I just learned something new on this topic . (sorta)
On turning long spindles that have some play in them, instead of useing a
steady rest. (like what I normaly do.) A Friend of mine uses two four jaw
chucks. one on both ends of the spindle. to me is sounds like pulling cotton
candy.
Hello Bill (and everyone!)
I just got home from work.
If I understand you correctly, the main problem is??? not having a good
enough mounting form the Legacy drive hubs on your lathe? Or is it, you are
just looking for a better way to mount everything on both machines?
On the topic of the eve
let us know how this turns out , I have already bought a birdmouth bit
to try myself. any pictures?

Yours is good for roughing on the lathe. I find it's faster to rough from
square stock on the lathe than it is to set the tablesaw or bandsaw up to
cut the corners off. Then you can dial in a straight cylinder on the legacy
if that is what you are going for. Your experience may vary depending on
your right Tim I just tried it in my lathe turns ok no vibration but when I
turn the piece around no matter what I do it wont run true
I even turned the centre point true in the wood lathe first but it still
runs out when I turn it around
Back to the drawing board looks like I will have to machin
