prices range form $500.00 to $1500.00.

That clears up most of the mystery
I did pretty much the same thing on my gears, But on a larger scale. ;-) (I
like your way better,Its cleaner and looking ,and it much less of a over kill
than what I used , but I just love the look of this chain THIS BAD BOY will not
ever slip!)
i make a variety of things, sometimes the legacy is my prefered tool,
sometimes even though it may do the job i use another tool because it will
do the job as well as or better than the legacy for me, i guess it depends
on the person, i like learning new things so i am always open to
suggestions.
Ron, I seemed to have lost all contact information for you. Would you

Hi all
Has anyone any suggestions as to which is the best router to run in my
900 Z Axis uprade? I have tried a secondhand 7518 and the single
speed Porter Cable but neither have proven satisfactory.
I live in rural Ireland and have great difficulty in sourcing
equipment and materials. With
I personally love my bosch routers , I have two of em and have not
ever been able to bog em down . not even with the panel raising bit.
Is there a bracket compatible with the bosch 3 1/4 . Mine are just 2
1/4 and mounted to a table.

Subject: Re: Router for Z Axis Ugrade
Hello Michael
I will take a different spin on this one. I like The Eliminator chuck, very
much, the quick and easy change over is a must for me, I know that they now
make chucks for a number of different types of routers. I personally would
go with the largest model you can find,as long as you
when you say not proven satisfactory may I ask in what way ?
if its power and your bogging down a 3 1/4 hp router then perhaps your
trying to remove too much material in one cut
or is it finding a router that physically fits the z upgrade

if not there is always the extreme extension which has a quick change
function in it
http://www.routertechnologies.com/extreme%20extension.htm
and you can always modify the z axis to accept a plunge router like a angle
plate attached to the vertical face for the router to attach too

I have a 900 with a Z axis upgrade, I have been using a 7518 in it since it
was purchased a couple of years ago. It has never bogged down or indeed
given me any problems, I therefore wonder if the router is the problem or
is there some other reason, the 7518 is a 3 1/4 hp unit, that should be
I agree with Ron that router should powerful enough to do just about
anything, I use my smaller bosch with panel raising bits with no
problem. check your bit make sure it is sharp and clean . when I have
pitch buildup it tends to burn the wood and not cut smooth. on those
motors I found a
