I also see duct tape so it's really just a story board type of tool. Still
a good tip for getting close.

You received this message because you are subsc
If you look at the two spindles you will see slight differences
between the two. I don't think it is a true copy.
A copy system would be cool though!

Curt, To mount the gearset simply remove the drive gear from the carriage
drive and the index gear from the spindle shaft. The stock gearset will
slide off and replace this set over shafts.
Replace drive gear of choice and 180 tooth index gear and its done.
I'll take a picture tomorrow. It looks

That is an interesting idea
That is an interesting idea. You can adjust your z-axis manually and
make your cuts to get a similar profile. Good tip.
I removed your other post with the link to the Russian portal site.
All of the content is available from either Legacy directly or on

Yes there is a single limit switch with contact buttons protruding from either
side. Cant see how he mounted it but one could easily re-wire into two separate
switches for opposing limits. I think the switch might be shown in one of the
pics lying on bottom shelf.

Hello All,
Ignore the price listed, it represents the guy's investment in his 1500
with all the accessories. He's actually getting rid of his shop that
includes, among other things, two shopbots--one of which is still in the
crate. I'm certain you can get a good price.

One more question, do you have any limmit switches on that motor drive? If not.
that is a must that you need to make for your self.
So far your old Legacy looks to be a Very nice machine. It should do you proud.
Have a good day.

Wow!
I wish this gentleman had joined the group years ago! That is a neat set up!
You said that your chain drive makes the carriages/pitch a 1/2" ,with your
motor drive and the chain gears, combined you should be able to turn a fine
/smooth spindle as good or better than any modern Legacy unit.
