Hi Russ
Yes the holes are for height control. but they also serve as positioning locks,
I can turn the router 90 deg. and do some limited face plate turning as well.
The idea was to use this jig to add details onto some of my spindles and or
bowls. I got the idea form a old fine working mag.
Welcome TO The Group, Doc.
I will send you a private e-mail/ welcome intro latter this evening.

Wow! Nice job Russ.
(Its my lunch time, I'm fudging the rules here, so I need to make this short.)
I really like your magnet rule holder as your depth gauge! AWESOME Idea!
Thank you.

You quote "My question to them is what are your qualifications for their
critique."
I have no qualifications for anything !! But I was only making a comment
about it being ugly and I did state it was in *my opinion.*.
Perhaps you can show the things you have made with the LOM's I may think
Hi Curtis
That not ugly, that's a waste of wood! Think of all the pens you could have
made and sold, then with the dollars built a Z Axis out of skip wood and ply.
Cheers

Hi Russ
What counts first and foremost is whether what you have built does what you
required.
If it's ugly what does that matter? To me it does not matter because it is not
on public show.
It is similar to people who criticise the design and aesthetic look of a
machine tool, a car, an
All my prototypes are ugly :>) When you see version 2.0 made of wood (of
course) it will be much prettier. maybe someone else can make their own version
and show us how nice they can make it.

Thank you Curt. I have always hated the rail adjustment design on my LOM.
Wait till you see how I fixed that. It works better that the Z axis idea. I
can change the rail height accurately in under a minute.

*Yes, I do like innovation*, but the use of wood seems to make it look a
bit heavy/ ugly (my opinion )
