Two quick comments:1. Have you considered using a "Bottom Cleaning" router bit - and drilling the hole for the center bit into it? May be a little tough - as you'd have to deal with the 1/4" section of carbide in the center. Perhaps cut it out with a band saw and then grind a "flat" so you can
Bill,Yummy! "Heaps of Treats!" I love it!I have a relative that lives in Sweden - and in November she wanted to "celebrate" Thanksgiving with her Swede boyfriend. They had to "special order" a turkey for the occasion from a local grocer/meat shop. Apparently turkeys are not stocked/sold there
Thank you Mac.
the drill bit is held in place with a set screw. You are right, the router bit
is wielded into the diamond hole saw.It dose work pretty well. the only problem
is the sanding of the center (where the carbide stops. It leaves a raised area.
You can see in the photos.)But this
Curtis,Got it. The extra pics helped. How did you secure (you state "locked") the 1/4" drill bit into the axis of the 1" router bit that you welded into the center of a (?" inside diameter) diamond hole saw. Ingenious device to use to make these "Bone quarters".Thanks again.Mac-Original

One more quick note that I was just asked.
Why a diamond hole saw?
the answer is simple. the diamond hole saw will not catch or bite into the
bone, its safer form me to hold the bone with out the worry of me getting a
kick back. The first bones I cut I only use the hole saw, and then needed
Ok Tim - since you brought it up.I was contemplating replying back to Brigitte:"I'm thinking more along the menu of "British fare" - Standing Rib Roast/Prime Rib Roast! Cooked only to rare-medium rare! (about 125º F internal).Along with some pan-roasted veggies (brussel sprouts, carrots,
Curtis,Thanks for the photos. By chance do you have one or two that show how you are actually drilling into the bone? The pics are more of a "before" and "after". I'm maybe a bit dense - not getting how you drill/route into a curved piece of bone and end up with a flat/thin (quarter-size
