Finally figured it out. Mostly by trial and error. It was extremely helpful to
know the relationship of one crank. I tried to utilize Tim’s tables with the
correct gear size, but it wasn’t working for me for some reason. Finally went
with a 1/2 bit and it equated to 6 starts.

Please correct me if I am wrong. couldn't you use Mike's carriage indexing
method here?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjcFpO51upw since you did all the
math, you have the pitch, just set up with a 3/8" off-set at the very start.
and then just keep returning the carriage until you have made
What pitch did you decide on?

The bit I was planning to use had a 3/8 diameter. So 5.96 / .375 = 15.96 or 16

cost but
On a job like that, normally what I do is figure the pitch, Let's ay you
will be doing an 8" pitch. That means within the 8 inch run you will
need 16 starts and measuring down the length they will be a 1/2" long.
so that will help you figure out the blade you will need. Now let's say

time. They are worth the $20 that Legacy is asking (again, I
