Hi Janis, I just realized that your earlier e-mail slipped through the
cracks from when I was behind after being away at a genealogy course for a

the mean time.
I agree that Ancestry.com should be the repository in this

event). One way is to tag everyone to start, then untag individuals who DO
have a census event.
1) From Edit/Tag Records dialog, select a tag, label it "Not in 1930
census", and assign that tag to Everyone.
2) From
Thanks, Mike! That looks like an interesting approach. I will give
it a try. I'm trying to list those in the U.S. who were alive in
1930, but do not have and entry for the 1930 census. I'm not sure
how I would search on "has a 1930 census event", though.

Hi Gene;
I would assume you have sourced all those who have
a 1930 census event.

1930 Census Sources and click Show List.
Now you have the one you have already
done...
Pick an unused/clear tag and tag them.
Next, go to the search window and

Gene,

I'd suggest using "aft 1 Apr 1930" -- that's the

Thanks again, Mike. Yes, you have described how I enter the census
events. I will follow your suggestions.

I use a program called Clipmate from http://www.thornsoft.com/
I haven't used the function you refer to, but it's available.

I found something interesting today about my problem opening PDF files.
