That is the only way of doing it. When I hit this situation I enter the
father as Mr Whatever with an unknown wife.

You can do this but note events without dates will be sorted together.
It's not something I'd want to do.
However, this is the way:
File File Maintenance - Check/Repair
Tick the check box to Sort all events by date.

I personally was very impressed by this, thank you for sharing this
info. I have some very important books that are very old that need to
be scanned. This is the best option I have seen so far. Can you tell
me where I might find one of these to purchase and maybe the price ?
Good question. I had no mail, no access to Legacy Home, and even the
Millenia website seemed to be down.
