Tried that. This is my first experience with Vista and it's mystifying why
there's no error message or anything.

I quite agree with Wendy. The issue is accurate research balanced with
readability. The only problem I can see with recording non-standard
locations
is how you locate/sort them in the Locations Master List.
Those of us in the USA have locations in Canada, Europe, South America, and

Although that is what I did originally and I had no problems.
Do you have the Legacy Icon showing on your desk top? All I do is
double click on that and it loads ready to go.
Tell us more about what occured when you installed the program.

Do you mean that you want a report on everyone named Patrick Culloden?
And what information do you want to show in this report?
If you installed from the CD it probably didn't have the latest update which
fixed any Vista problems. I'd recommend that you download the full setup
from our website, install it, and then run Legacy.

Ruth,
It would depend on the relationship, if it's indirect eg via in laws then
there would not be a relationship.

Thanks to all who responded, especially Wendy and Mike. I think you are

Marcellyn,
Your example of Normandy, an area which I know very well, is a perfect
example as to why the so called standard is quite unsuitable for European
countries. Today Normandy is *not* a state but a Region and was formerly a

And as Ron said before, use common sense. Some locations even in the USA

I suppose you could search for all the Patrick CULLODEN, tag them and then

It might help if you tell us the URL to your web site (for example, as

The Legacy training CD's will give you tips that will amaze and help and
answer all these questions, as well as questions you didn't even know you
had.
When you are choosing the Family Group Sheet, click on Record Selection.
There, you can set up how many generations of FGS's you want.
I have just merged two files, and all is fine except for one person. In

Hi Dee,
You can do most of this through the merge process without retyping.
First backup your family file so if you don't like what you do with
the merge, then you can try again.
Go to the Beatrice you want to use as your major entry.
Go to Merge Manual Merge.
Choose the other Beatrice as
