IMHO, it seems that Tish is unaware of the standard

I have to compliment Geoff and the rest of the team at Millenia

Thanks to all of you!!

As I'm researching online, I've come across a lot of .pdf files. Mostly it's
census records, but also draft registration cards, and others. I'd love to
be able to attach these to people in Legacy. Is there a way to do that?
Thanks,
Julie

First of all - can you run Legacy on the desktop? forget about loading in
your file, just try to open the program
If it will run, then try to create a new, blank family tree and add a few

Julie,
This is going to sound weird - but go to the picture files for the person
- click you want to add a SOUND file. When the window opens - click the
down arrow by sound files and pick all files. Now add the .pdf file - I do
it all the time and it does work. (Told you it was strange!)

You can add them as a video through a master source or a detail source.

One other possibility would be to email me a copy of your .fdb file offline (to
my email, not the list). I can attempt to do whatever conversion you would
like and email the spreadsheet back to you. Before we try this, let me know
how big your .fdb file is.

I'm new to Legacy (Deluxe, 6.0).
I've been trying to add some pictures to individual records. Legacy seems
not to recognize .tiff format so I used .jpeg and it seemed OK.
However, when I try to print a descendant chart with these pictures, Legacy
give me an error message Error 10002. LEAD
Thanks to those who replied directly to me -- attaching a pdf as a video or
sound file works wonderful. Is there any plan to allow .pdfs to be attached
in another manner?
Thanks again,
Julie

I think you will find that you can’t backup directly from Legacy to the DVD
/ CD burner – you will have to back up the multimedia (through Legacy menus)
– locate the resulting backup file on your hard drive and burn that file to
the CD / DVD.

that. is there any disadvantage, apart from the backup file size, in using the

hi Arnie,
Jan's message may have solved your problem, if not, then i think the experts
will need some more detail as to how you are trying to do the backup. either a

OK Arnie,
Try this.
1. Open Legacy
2. Go to File
3. Select Backup Multimedia files
4. You will see a new, small window with the title Backup Multimedia files
to: and it should have in the Save in box the folder Data
5. Give the backup file a name eg. Familyfilename multimedia 15.7.07 (i.e
