Better it be good and working than like the Family Tree 2007 release was,
that was a total disaster for the company, but I also like it when planes

Claire,
Like you, I attach census images, as well as birth, death, marriage
records (and all others) to the source detail. By doing that, the image
doesn't get added to the pedigree web pages that I create through
Legacy. This is how I have chosen to attach document images. It works
for me but
I have been using "overkill" right now and attaching the census image to both
the event and the source detail. I am not sure that I will leave it that way,
but for now, I like it. I haven't printed any reports yet, just previewed a
few, so I can't speak to that.

Claire,
I always attach mine to the Source Detail as they are, as you say, the sources.
I do not, however, use Census Events so that option does not arise!
If you wish to print them on web sites or reporrts then I guess that they will
have to be attached to the Event, but in my experience for

It should be
John Doe born 01 Jan 1760, Berkeley Co, VA (WV did not exist at that time).
It isn't proper to put that W in there to imdicate that Berkeley ended up in
WV. You always document the location name that was correct AT THE TIME THE
EVENT TOOK PLACE.

You need to think about how to handle any existing Y-DNA data that happens to
be attached to non-males before making a change like this. I hope you aren't
suggesting that it be wiped out?
If the developers feel it needs to be addressed (I don't), I would recommend
that it just be flagged as a "
Since I'm heavily into DNA testing I'll jump into this thread.
While Y-DNA testing doesn't apply to females, the need to record Y-
DNA for them *is* required because in many cases the person, be it
brother or whomever supplies the DNA, may not be included in the
Legacy database.
So I would not
An example would be "John Doe was born 1 January 1760 in Berkeley Co."
If it would print out what's in the database it would be saying, "John Doe
was born 1 January 1760 in Berkeley Co., (W)VA."
Thanks,
Pat

John,
It's an enhancement to an existing feature. A lot of new tests have been

add the new ones as they find the time. I understand your concern as I have

Thanks for using Legacy.

Mitrochondrial DNA needs to be held for all, it is present in males but
handed down through females. It therefore gives some help in determining
ones maternal line, although it will need to be a lot more commonly used to
become really useful.
As to the Y-DNA, it would be useful if this were a litt
