Welcome!! I don't think there's a way to do what you are asking for,
but can I ask, why would you want to do that? The RIN number is
automatically assigned by Legacy, in order, i.e., the first person you
enter to your Database is given RIN # 1, the second given # 2, and so
on, regardless
Just wanted to totally agree here - the RIN numbers are mostly for Legacy
to use to track different people, and to link people together, and can be
ignored. They are viewable because a lot of people use them for their own
purposes as well.

Welcome. As Dermot says, Legacy doesn't work without the RINs. Legacy
is a relational database and the RIN is one of hte essential links
between the various tables. However, you can ignore them and they can
operate completely in the background.
