Pam,
I am far less knowledgeable about Vista than XP, but it seems to me that whilst
2GB of RAM should be ample your problem may arise with the allocation of
Virtual Memory.
May I suggest that you take a look at
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/6ff8a1d7-df64-4826-8d48-29f
I went back and read Pam's original post in the archives (I didn't get
it because it was not posted as plain/text). My first impression was
that indeed it may have something to do with memory. But I suspect
something internal like an array of a fixed size overflowing. Or maybe a
stack overflow ...
I have a new laptop, and decided on a new installation of Legacy v.7
(and about time, too, some would say).
OK for first few days, but now a mega problem.

You have to uncheck "If an event has multiple citations, combine them
into one paragraph".

Hi Laurence,
Thanks! That sounds pretty much like what I'm doing -- which is good to
know.
How about if the person gets married a 2nd or 3rd time and gets new
MRINs? Do you then put any new documents into the new file?
Appreciating the feedback,

When the new marriage is created I create a new file and just carry on with any
certificates or what ever going into the new file.
Some thing else I do that Geoff
There are at least two ways to get a printed report of the Not Duplicates list.
1) Use Microsoft Access or Open Office to link the tblDM to tblIR and print
the fields you wish.
2) Use a program like FastStone Capture which can capture the scrollable
window of show not duplicates and then you

Not exactly redundant. I like using Charting Companion for the way it prints
descendant charts (shows the lineage along the top of the page so you can
follow which generation you're looking at). However, that's the only thing I
use it for, and it's not absolutely necessary to me.

I use Legacy Charting Companion with V6 and like it for Descendant B
Thanks for the tip, Dennis. I must stop panicking!
Up, up and away :-)

I've used Tree Draw for years and am very happy with it. I don't do anythng
very esoteric with it, but so far what I've needed it's provided. It's a
very nice line family tree chart with features, like pictures, you can add.
I'm satisfied with it as I said, but, again, I don't need much from such
I heard you talking about me so I resubscribed. I got a new job so I've
been away from this for what seems like months and I'm a bit rusty.
