I've installed an update for Legacy v7, and I'm getting a problem I
didn't have before. When I go to "Notes" of any kind, the text field is
black. When I type, it appeared that there's text being inserted. When
I cut and paste from the text field of the "Notes" window to another
program,

Have you tried shutting down your PC, leaving it for a few minutes and
rebooting?
If that doesn't work then I would suggest that you uninstall - reinstall. You
do not say what version you now have, it should be 7.0.0.90.

Somehow, I find I have have several duplicates of Family files entered in
Legacy. What is the proper way to identify and delete the extras?

My son is going to set up my new computer for me this evening, but it won't
be hooked up to the internet until tomorrow. Can he go on line and download
the program to a CD and then load it on the new computer or will he have to

I read the article on merging two files and have a question. What I have done
is to look up things (census, etc) on Ancestry and bring them into the family
file that I have posted on the Ancestry site.
At the same time, I tried to enter them into my Legacy file
The solution to black note screens can be found on our website. Click on
Help Center > Technical Support > Solutions by Error Description > Notes and
Spell Check Problems.
The Richtx32.ocx file needs to be updated.

Yes he can do that. He needs to click the download button from the Legacy
site and rather than click on the Run button click on the Save button. Once
that is done you can save the program to a CD or USB device for transfer to
your new computer.

I have produced this report I have called it the "Ancestors of X", where "X" is
the name of one of the last descendants.
