Pat,
I am having to go off memory here, but it is pretty obvious when you see it -
if that is not an oxymoron!
Open the Source Master List and I think you will find that the first one is a
blank, if so then delete it.

Pat,
How's your hard drive space? It might be having a problem creating some
temporary work files on the drive due to lack of space.
I'd also look over the drive for any left-over temp files that didn't get
deleted after the crash. No, I'm not sure where to look - don't know where the

There could also be something wrong with writing permissions to a folder or

Wow. Pictures for a divorce event. Can't wait to see that in anybody's file.

They do read this list, but formal requests are always better.

I had the same problem with a long PDF, and found somewhere, whether on the
Legacy site or somewhere not obvious in Help, that Legacy cannot create long
PDFs. Probably because of their very outdated PDF version (see recent
thread on that). You get error messages and Legacy crashes. No fix
If you go to the Master Source List, youll see those sources identified as
!Fix This Source. Most likely youll just need to enter a Source List Name.
Thanks for using Legacy.

If this is the case, maybe the OP can install a PDF printer driver to
get around the problem.

I'm right in thinking that neither the location report (which we have
just discussed under another heading), nor a fan chart can be included
in the publishing center?
I find a fan chart valuable as it is by far the most compact way to
include all direct line ancestors on a single page, isn't it?
In theory, it seems as if that would be true. But I haven't done much
combining of sources, so I can't speak with any authority. g

I guess my problem stems from my history with computers. I grew up in the
days that if you did something on a computer more than twice, you write a
program to automate the task. (This was back in the 70s when most people
still didn't believe such a thing as a personal computer was very useful.)
I have gone the other way (splitting one master source into multiple),
and it was a *lot* of work.

It seems to be designed that way. If you go through each of the reports you
will see what printing options are available on the right, under the image
of the printer. Family and descendant will do text, html, and pdf. Pedigree
will only do pdf. Not sure why they aren't available in rtf because it
Agreed, and I'm having an issue right now with some state documents that

only a handfull of records are affected, but it looks like I'm going to have
to split in this case and make every volume a separate source. So, I
Margaret,
I'm not clear on what you are trying to do, but a MHT file is not a
GEDCOM file. It contains markup text for browsers. If you know what to
do, open the file in a text editor and remove the markup languages,
then save it as a plain text file with the .ged suffix.
