Thanks to all who answered. One of my problems was confusing the source
detail with notes for events, and thanks to you all, I now have them
straight.

I have no photos. What I have are two lisitings in the Master Source
List for the same census, though of two different pages. Can I combine
them into one listing? I have what seems to me a very long Master
Source List, and this problem will arise again.

Thanks. It worked today, but not yesterday (I had tried that too).

Can I combine them into 1 master source with different detail? If so,
how?

Yes,
I've simplified my census source to read United
States Federal Census, leaving the details to the
individual's Event records. I used to have it broken
down by year, but realized it was redundant in my
files.

I would make one suggestion to Jenny's excellent description.
Change all Detail Source records first so you don't lose the page number, etc.
Then you could print out a source listing for just those sources,
checking that the detail is included to make sure you don't miss any

Dave, you know I just might go back to including the
year in my source(s), as yours was an angle of
reasoning I had not considered. AThanks!

Plus, if you keep the year in the source, you can see in which censuses the
person appeared.

what format are the two pages in? transcription,
photocopy, drawing, abstract? I don't understand what
a 'listing' means. Are you saying 2 different Source
records? I have over 2000 sources, and that is not
overly large in my opinion. There are a few different
ways to do it.

Are you asking how to add two photos into one 'big'
photo of 2 partial pages? I put all transcipts for a
city in the 'text'. You can choose to put the copies
in either the Master Source or the Source Detail,
which each allow multiple shots. Or are you asking
something different.
