Sorry - perhaps I should have said that I do use a pdf creator
regularly (see posts elsewhere), but I am really trying to get to use
publishing centre - to 'make it work for me'. At present I don't feel
that I quite understand it.

Well, I don't think Brian was recommending using a separate pdf
creator, since it removes any point of having placeholders doesn't it?
apart perhaps for pagination purposes? I await his comment with

imported into a word processor (Microsoft Word or similar) where it can then
"corrected", expanded, pages and images added, etc.?

Thanks for that idea. Slight snag is that requires a fair bit of
fiddle, creating the chart as a picture attached to an individual. I
had hoped I was overlooking something.
It may be easier to 'publish' the charts as pdfs, and then import them
using Adobe Acrobat, later. The snag is that o

I want to include a fan chart at the beginning of each grandparent's
section of a book.
Is there a way to include either fan charts created by the newish
