I think it is the "Non English and Horrible Grammar Society" :)

I still think that the organisation (whatever it was called) should find
better/more constructive things to do!

A small comment on that. I was born *in* a Nursing Home, but I was born
*at* Don't-know-the-name Nursing Home *in* Birkenhead.
Similarly, I'd say *at* 2 High Street or *in* High Street.

Hi Susan,
Unless you are planning to submit to NEHGS, I wouldn't worry about it.
From an Australian point of view, to use "born at Dalwallinu" rather
than "born in Dalwallinu" sounds strange whereas "born at Dalwallinu
Hospital", "born at Honeysuckle Cottage" etc is more normal than using "in"
most
respected genealogical societies in the United States.

I have been editing an RTF generated file (Descendants Book) from Legacy for
the past month, and as I near the end, I am beginning to wonder how
consistent I have been with my prepositions. Legacy's standard report is to
use the preposition "in" - i.e. "Chris was born in Boston on 1 Aug 1901."
