[LegacyUG] Prevent import of Ancestry.Com UID

When I import the gedcom of the tree I have at Ancestry.Com, the import process tells me that there is an unidentified tag "UID". I do Not want to import this. I go to the Customize screen. "UID" is listed under "Unrecognized items". I click "Create an event for this tag", entering"Ancestry UID"

I did not receive any answer from Legacy. I haven't had tried to import since that time - just not much need. Also it occurred to me that perhaps this was a way to keep match Ancestry records up with ones previously downloaded - again something I haven't really looked into since I haven't had much

Melody, Has your issue been resolved since your exchange with Customer Support? My understanding is that the 36 character Unique Identification Number is designed to facilitate merges/imports for those software or websites that support it. I found the following on another software's site: "

Melody, Have you tried just leaving the UID as an unrecognized item. If you do Legacy should list the UID entries from the Ancestry GEDCOM in the error report when the GEDCOM is imported. If you will send me one of those Ancestry downloaded GEDCOMs privately to [EMAIL PROTECTED] I will test
