Is there a way to do a bulk sort on all children so they appear in
date order? I have a couple of pages (problem report) of families that
need the children sorted and don't relish doing it a family at a time.
Lesson learned: Other family members don't do things like I do, or
GEDCOMs are nice, but
I cannot think of a bulk way to do this. Besides, doing this en masse
could also unintentionally change the order of children where the order
is known, but dates are not.

Good point, Dawn. It's just that I've spent the better part of the
last hour cleaning up other people's messes and was hoping for a quick
fix (which may not have been a quick fix.) Guess I just need to take a
break, then come back and do it...
Thanks for the thought...

It all depends on how it is implemented. It could certainly be coded to

But now you know why we are all adamant about not putting other
peoples work in our trees. Next time maybe take a look before you do

Ha, you're one step ahead of the game, Dennis. Downloaded the update,
ran the sort, and it works like a champ. Thanks. You just saved me a
lot of time and headache.

Hope this helps

Unfortunately - No. The 1/2 children will always show at the end of the list, after any children common to the two parents. Where all of the childen are 1/2 the first in the list will be the children of the highlighted parent. And you have to remember that they are not true HALF siblings -
When I have similar situations, and I want all the children to show on the
Family Group Sheet, I link all the children to the current marriage IN
ADDITION TO their birth parent marriage. Then in Children Settings I add
the Relationship to Father and/or Relationship to Mother as Step or

Ah.. so that would make the husband's children by the previous marriage and the
wife's children from previous marriage Siblings-in-Law!

I tried that - one of the first things I checked. Didn't seem to do any
good.
I've since posted another message with more problems, which I think are all
