If your grand daughter wants to retrace your work 50 years from now
how will she know you used the Ancestry.com site?
The Generations Network Inc. tells me this is a company. How can
she tell it was online? at what site? The Generations Network owns
Rootsweb and I think the SSDI
First of all, I don't have a granddaughter and don't expect to ever
have one since my daughter has been unable to have children. In case
I do, she can tell that it was an online source because it says
[database online]. I seriously doubt that Ancestry.com will be
online in 50 years. You people
Debbie, please don't disengage because of one person's comments.
In general, we need to remember that there are many reasons each of us
opts to do genealogy and to use Legacy or any other software. What
suits one person need not suit all. Sharing how we choose to handle
different situations
I am sure that some of my sources are not sourced correctly. In the
case of the Ancestry census images, I am certain that they are not
because I have cited them the same way I have cited the censuses I
have viewed on microfilm at my state archives. Frankly, in the case
of censuses, I don't think
Can someone please provide how they have sourced the Social Security
Death Index? I'd really like to know what you have in the various
fields of the master source. I have many entries of birth and death
information using this database from Ancestry.com but I'm not sure how
to source it.
