I should have stated that I have no intention of making all 9 tags
permanent. I want that to be a user's choice as to whether one or more
tags are made permanent, or later returned to a temporary state. By
mistake one can click "Clear All Tag Numbers for Everyone", and then
tags do disa

To clear the tags Right Click on any tag box in Family View. Check "untag"
select the tag you want cleared and click Close. This will remove a single
tag you have chosen. If you want to untag all 9 tags, click on "Clear All
Tag Numbers for Everyone".

I am still stuck on a box to check, like the ones for anniversaries and
birthdays only it could be for death date, many times I have tried to make
my own list but a more efficient one would be in the regular birthday

My suggestion for the future would be on the 'Family' screen, once I have
sourced my information for the subject (i.e. birth/death etc) to change

This just reminded me that long ago I wanted to clear mine and could not
find a way to do it...although it's probably easy and I just missed it. Can
someone give me a hint?

As do I also. I use the first 4 tags for quickly identifying the 4
branches of my family (from my grandparents), exporting them as gedcoms,
