Awesome ideas--I have a pure research file, but had kept dirty files
separate. Merging them is a great idea, especially with Legacy's tools to
note the source. I, too have learned my lesson the hard way about importing
data and have received not so kind e-mails from folks about such
information.

This is where the surety levels can come in handy for those that use them.
Basically what I do is create a "master" file in which I import others
work that gives me a reference point to start with. It is a dirty file
full of "junk" and I don't care what's in it in regards to sources or
duplica

Do the children have more than one relationship to parents in the view
where you get duplicates?
If a blood child to one parent is adopted by the other, the name of the
same child will appear twice in their family view, once with each
relationship. If you delete the whole child anywhere, both app
