Hi Ralf, It really is up to you - and how you want to be able to use features like "Show List". I've been making each Certificate I have a Master Source and each index a Master Source. I'm planning on changing that before I have too many certificates, as I'd find it useful to use Show List

I use a master source for all birth records from the same facility. For example if I have 4 birth certificates that were issued from the NY City Dept of Health, then I would cite the Master Source as Birth Certificate NYC Dept of Health. If I obtained an older certificate that was originally issued

Thank you to everyone who replied to my Master Source question. Since I'm basically starting from ground zero I wanted to make sure I was starting on the right foot. One source of information that I hit today was Passenger Lists. Do you create one Master Source per source type, ship, or voyage?
