Yes the Repeat is useful when you only want some of the previously
entered Event.
If you want the lot, including the Source, then the Event
Clipboard/Copy and Paste the entire event is much quicker.

I like using Legacy because "most times" there isn't just one right way -
it's what works for each of us.
I like to record each year's census records as a source for a particular
name. I have the specific location and actual date written on the census
page to gauge birth/death/marriage dates.

Entering Census Events is time consuming but well worth it.

I guess technically you could say that you are doing it "right" if it is the
way you want it recorded. There are many ways to record things and
everyone has his or her preference.
