I agree
John,
Displaying 6 additional tags in the Family View simply adds clutter without
function. Secondly, tags are temporary, reusable, definable by the user and
if you made them permanent what happens when you use up the 9 tags? Tags do
not just disappear into thin air it takes a user command to
Karl,
To clear the tags Right Click on any tag box in Family View. Check untag
select the tag you want cleared and click Close. This will remove a single
tag you have chosen. If you want to untag all 9 tags, click on Clear All
Tag Numbers for Everyone.
Hope this helps.

I should have stated that I have no intention of making all 9 tags
permanent. I want that to be a user's choice as to whether one or more
tags are made permanent, or later returned to a temporary state. By
mistake one can click Clear All Tag Numbers for Everyone, and then
tags do

I agree with making 9 visible. Also allow them to be made permanent, by
the user, so they are not erased by accident.
This just reminded me that long ago I wanted to clear mine and could not
find a way to do it...although it's probably easy and I just missed it. Can
someone give me a hint?

There is no way I would wish to see nine tags on the family view screen,
although I would like some flexibility as to which tags I do show. But
not
at the expense of more important changes.
Ron
My suggestion for the future would be on the 'Family' screen, once I have
sourced my information for the subject (i.e. birth/death etc) to change
colour on that screen, not just the 'Individual' screen.
Many thanks for a great program

As do I also. I use the first 4 tags for quickly identifying the 4
branches of my family (from my grandparents), exporting them as gedcoms,
etc. It's a real pain not being able to see all 4 in
