All you need to do is put yuor cursor right at the line between the word
DATE and the word DESC/PLACE/NOTES and then you will see the cursor change
to a cross looking thing. Drag the line to the left and drop it on the next
line over and it will get rid of the date field.

Just put your cursor up on the grey area on the vertical line between Date and
Description. It will change to a large plus sign. Drag that to the left and
the date column will disappear.

Why? If you want to have that field removed from ALL events go to the actual
event you want it to 'leave', go to 'Edit Event Sentence Definition'. Under the
Event name are a few tik-on/off, including Show a date field. What this does
(changed this stuff long ago).

the date off, the next time you open up that file, it is back again. I
was looking at a permanent way to set it off.
