Hi Jan, thanks for your suggestions.
Unfortunately, it is a such problem. I would rather have a single page
(double sided) than have 6-12 pages to put on the fridge, or give to other
people.
The initial query is for my uncles family but I would also like one starting
with my grandparents.

Have you run a Check/Repair? Shut down Legacy and rebooted your computer?
Let us know if/when you've done this, and if you're still having
difficulties. :-)
Kind Regards,

No one got any suggestions. I had a program from the 90's that would
do this quite easily (reunion). Sad that it seems Legacy cant do this.
Every program has it's plus points and its minuses. For genealogy
software, Legacy just seems to have more pluses than most!

I agree Legacy has more positives than many, that doesn't mean it can't be
improved though and I would think that the mailing list is used as a source
of feedback by Legacy. While the data input is very good the reports have
at times been found lacking in Legacy. Even the charting was an add-on
Hello Mark
Why don't you save the birthday list as a .pdf,
open it and then copy and paste the details in a text file.

I can not print this as a text file as the only options are screen/printer
and pdf otherwise I would let it make a text file and edit that.
Create the PDF, open it, select all, copy, open word processor, paste,
then edit. Almost takes
Am looking for some direction as to how I can do the following -
Under Events I have entered the various Census details but on all of them
under Date I have just entered the actual year. Now I would like to change -
eg 1901 to 31st March 1901. I have tried it on the Search and Replace but it
Marion,
I would try using SearchFindDetailed search with the first search being
for a census event And the secont date equal to 1901. Create the list and
then OptionsAdvanced Tagging, select to tag the search list.

Pocket Genealogist is what you need for a Windows Mobile Device. It has
complete view/edit capabilities for Legacy Databases and can do full 2-way
synchronization between your database and the device. (So you can make
changes to any of the data on the device and it will sync the changes
I have a program that will extract Birthdays and Anniversaries from a Legacy

The program can be found at:

It is a fairly simplistic program but it does
OK - many thanks for that - at this rate it may be just simpler to leave
them as the year date as it means I would have to do the same with each year
from 1841 to 1911 - it was a bright idea at the time I thought!! Maybe
one day if I have a lot of time on my hands with nothing else to do!!
Marion,
That would be correct! Guess that you are from Britain with census years like
that :-) If you know SQL and either Access or OpenOffice you could do it
directly.

Thanks
Just today my wife asked me for this type of list.
Really much appreciated

The program can be found at:
Add the source to one event, then on the source screen highlight the source you
want to re-use, click the icon with two clipboards to add the source to the
clipboard. You will be asked if you want to overwrite existing. Click on that
button. Now for any event you wish to use the same source
If you have the option to create a PDF.
Your content is text in the PDF not an image.
Do that.
Then it is easy to copy the text - click on the text icon at the top
and basically - you then cut paste the list.
