I essentially do what you are doing. But I don't think you explained why
it isn't working.
As there was a discussion a few months ago about nFS for non-LDS, I thought LUG
members might be interested to learn that Dear Myrtle's blog has an update on
the status of nFS or New FamilySearch. However, she is also giving it the name
of "Family Tree."

The Family File itself has a file extenion of .FDB. The backup is

Thanks, Dennis, much appreciated. I'd scoured the Descendants Book
options with no luck so assumed Narrative would be the same. Either one
will do in this case so I won't concern myself with the other for now.

It's in both on the very first screen that pops up (in V6). You DO NOT
even have to click on the "Report Options..." button.

Here is what I provide users who can't find their family files:
Legacy files that contain family data come in two types:

Hi Dennis,
After a lot of gnashing of teeth, I found it. Options, Report Options,
geesh, why couldn't they be combined? Makes me wonder if I'm missing any
more options. Sorry, I'm not well and today isn't my brightest day,
obviously.

The recommended standard (_Getting It Right_ by Mary H. Slawson) is to leave
the field blank if you don't have the data. That, however, is unacceptable to
