Under options select customize select data format, then under category, Term
for Christening, select Bap/Baptism.

Christened and some are Dedicated. It would be nice to not be held to one or
the other.

I tested RG today and confirmed that only Basic Style sources are added

That's been passed on to the programmers. As well as the ability to
change the term for other religions who don't practice baptism or

Some people have written who were offended by seeing those terms since
it was not part of the ritual of their religion!

Some of the other programs the baptism and christening are separate events and
a person can have both. The programmers of Legacy just need to add these as

David,
Don't we already have that capability? We can add as many custom events as we
want. For my family, probably baptisms are the most common. If I want to
separate out christenings, or have both baptisms and christenings, I can just
add a christening event.
I think it was Brian who said in
More info. I just saw that if I click on one of the event labels in Family

This has been an known issue since Legacy first created Source Writer; Part of
the situation is no program transfers exactly using Gedcom. Even Basic has some

Richard,
I'm unaware of any plans to do anything with the GEDCOM standard. As I
understand it, GEDCOM was developed by the LDS Church as a way of sharing
genealogical information. While I think their primary motivation was to get
