When we generate the Dutch .chm help file we also add a Table of contents (we
have four tabs) that makes it somewhat easier to find the main subjects.

Hello: Recently I've noticed my Master Location List has changed how it
creates the address.
In adding a new location in the Master Location List or into an individual's
information screen, using comma's after each entry as per the Help file,
example 'Calumet, Houghton, Michigan, USA' it comes

Yes, it is at root level as are all the Geo* files.
I think I'm going to just have to let Legacy input locations as it desires,
then change everything under Options as has been discussed.
Thank you to everyone for helping. I have learned from all this even if I
didn't get it figured out.
Yes. I thought it would need a new start to accept the new data base, so I
would first closed Legacy, made the changes, then restarted Legacy for the
new changes to take place.
Thank you,

Two questions:
1. I'm unable to find a way to search sources in Legacy. I can create a
report ("Source Citation Listing" -- I usually do a .pdf) and search the
report, but I have been unable to find a way to search Legacy itself.
In particular I want to find Besse, *Collection of the sufferings
Laura,
Here's one way to do what you're asking.
1) Navigate to the ancestor for which descendants will be tabulated.
2) Clear Tag 1 for Everyone in the database.
3) Set Tag 1 for descendants of individual in step 1.
4) Tools>Set Relationships
set Blood relationships limit to the closest = 1

I’m not sure I completely understand the second bug, but I’m sure you will

Gene,
My original file reads as follows (see below).
I've saved the original file as an -Alt.txt file in the same folder, done
modifications, but nothing is changing. I am closing Legacy, making the

Thank you Gene - that was very helpful, used it for a few other

There is a much easier method included in Legacy. Try Options>Customize>Data
Format and then the "Apply" button in the "Letter Case of Surnames". Click
"Initial Caps" first. Viola!
Same thing works for other fields. Check out the other "Apply" buttons.

Lana,
I don't think there is a way to make it save "USA" when you select one of the
locations that are found in the United States. There was a change in the
program when they added the "United States" options and now it no longer stores
the 3 character abbreviation. Someone must have thought i
