[LegacyUG] Last Update to 7.5

2014-09-15 Thread MikeFry
Being a little cheeky here. There has been a 'last' update to 7.5 (build 286). Only item in it disables the non-working integration with FamilySearch. Since 7.5 no longer does what it originally said it would do on the tin, can I have a refund please? :-) :-) -- Regards, Mike Fry (Jhb) Legacy

Mike, I know you're not serious but for those who continue to ask about 7.5 it is peculiar that they don't understand the issue. Version 7.5 would still function with Family Search if Family Search still responded to their old APIs. It's like a person with a transistor radio claiming the

I have 7.5 and 8.0. Because of issues some months ago with 8 I decided my working copy would be 7.5. I monitor news on 8 and because of family search connection I use 8 to look there. I just decided to run the repair tool on my data base on 8 and find 5 errors. All of them give a RIN number and

[LegacyUG] Shifting Sources

Well, it's not actually the Sources which have shifted, but the names of Collections change and/or Search methods change and I'm wondering how other LUGgers handle this. Here's an example which illustrates exactly what I mean. In the Good Old Days when searching FindMyPast for a marriage in the

I never really understood all the panels in 7.5 when the Search was available but I do have 2 sets of RED arrows on two people on one family line. I know I saw lots of data a few months ago when 7.5 had the link to FS. Looking at the 8.0 data the red links also appear for the same individuals but
