[LegacyUG] Tricking Legacy into accepting a second unknown spouse

Thelma, I have been looking at the 112 reports that Legacy creates, but I am sorry to say none of them give counts by relationships. Jim Legacy Family Tree Technical Support Original Message > From: "Thelma Martin" > Sent: Tuesday, June 30, 2015 7:41 PM > To: legacyusergroup@

Here is my question: I downloaded my family tree from ancestry.com to their Family Tree Maker software program for Mac. If I make GEDcom from that, will I be able to directly import it to Legacy's Deluxe 8.0 Edition which is in Windows format? Thank you for any help you might give me. Stefani

Yes. You should be able to import a GEDCOM file into a new Legacy file. You do realize that the GEDCOM standard is many years old and there may be some things that don’t get translated correctly;  however, most everything should be fine. --  Leon Chapman Sent with Airmail On July 1, 2015 at 11:

Scott, You can always name the unknown spouse as Mrs. Smith or whatever the last name of the husband is. Be sure to right click in the Children Space on the Family View, click View and select Show 1/2 children. Dave Johnson Happiness Is a Choice! From: Scott Hall [mailto:seh0...@gmai

Hi Scott, If you know there is a second spouse but no offspring, then you have some information even if you don't have a name - so I'd use Given Name - blank or Mrs Smith or second wife of husband's name; Surname - [[husband's surname]] and add the source to the "name". I guess you could just add
