As often happens, on looking more carefully at the Export to a GEDCOM
options I have found the answer I was seeking. On the Customise button
there is a check box to select "Move Event Descriptions to the Events Notes
Field (for prgorams that do not support Event Descriptions."

I am in the process of tidying up my data after using Legacy since 2007. Up
till now I have filled in the description field in Events as I liked the
way it printed out, putting the description field next to the place, before
the notes, making it useful to print out reports for reviewing away from
2:49 + (UTC)

have the default setting of 10, then it has changed to 6 for the second
half. I have reset the Individual Report to its defaults but no change. Any
ones existed at that time.

In events, for residence address, I've been entering the street number,
street name and suburb in the description field and this looks fine when
printing reports. Would it be better to enter to enter the address using the
address icon, or just write the address in the event notes?
