According to the bug report the error first occurred in Legacy 7.0.0.110, a Beta build issued to the testers, on 25 Sep 2009. The problem report was entered in out tracking system on 30 Sep 2009. For users on this list the first appearance would have been with the issue of Legacy 7.4 on 29 Jan 201

It is useful if you "know for certain" that a couple had no children, to record that so you do not waste research time looking for children for the couple. Olwyn, You must be using the Descendant Chart report since the charts are the only ones which use unknown for a missing spouse. In narrative reports there is a marriage wording setting which uses "someone" as the default for a missing spouse. There is no way to turn off the use of Unknown on those
