I noticed that there is a remote control app for Chromebooks that has some good
ratings. That could be used to access your Windows computer through the
internet. Since the app is written for Chrome it would likely work much better
than the RealVNC or other remote control software.

James,
James, I think your answer is the best.
Except I would be afraid to connect a Windoz
computer to the Internet due to security
issues I've had with Windoz in the past.
But if VNC is reasonably secure, than good.
At the beginning of this year my laptop
died and I investigated replacements
I had no success in finding info on Legacy and Chromebook in the archives
but seem to remember some discussion of it.Could someone point e in the
right direction in the archives and/or has there been success or trouble
with Legacy on a Chromebook?

Chromebook is new to me, but according to the website it has the Chrome o/s.
Since Legacy requires Windows o/s I would not expect it to run.

Legacy will only run on a Windows operating system. If I am not
mistaken, the Chromebook runs on the Android operating system. Therefore
But if that's the case (that a Chromebook runs Android) then you could
use the Families app, which syncs with Legacy.
You can start a new family file in Families, so do not have to start
with a Legacy file if you don't have access to a Windows machine -
though if you have a Legacy file, but no
You could remote to a Windows PC. I am not familiar enough with
Chromebook's either, but the app store lists VNC Viewer, and I've read that
Splashtop for Chromebook should be coming soon. With this sort of app, you
can have your PC running at home, and then connect to it remotely via the
cloud
Wendy,
As you may have read elsewhere Chromebook uses the Chrome o/s which I am pretty
sure is not the same as Android.
I would, therefore, not expect Families to run.

Legacy only runs in a Microsoft Windows environment. Chromebooks run Chrome OS
which is essentially the Chrome browser with a keyboard. Anything that runs
under Chrome like Google Docs will work on the Chromebook. Legacy is not
browser based so it will not work under Chrome OS. It is
Again, I am not familiar with Chromebook, but the marketing would indicate
this is not true. See my earlier post, and...
VNC Viewer for Google Chrome is from RealVNC, the inventor of VNC remote

is Windows based. The other possibility is that an app might be developed to
run on it like those available for iPad.Ron Taylor
